Do they really make a difference compared to lead?

I was given one and the feel is better(just like bullet weights). I wouldn't see much of an advantage unless you are fishing rock(which lead generally is easier to get "un-hung")

For the extra price, no. I've used them in the past and while they do transmit better, I don't see a significant difference. If you have a sensitive rod and you use braid or fluorocarbon then a lead jig should be plenty sensitive enough.

Most your jig bites are not soft enough to have to use tungsten. Most your jig bites are very noticeable most occasions. Not worth the cost difference.

I don't think so. A good rod and the right line are the most important. There is also not a large selection of tungsten jigs on the market, and a lot of them are very expensive. Lead is still the way to go for jigs because tungsten just doesn't really have any significant advantages.

I use them when I need to downsize the jig but not the weight, works great.
