Not trying to poll "which is best"....just interested in why you prefer one versus the other. Personally, I have always used Zoom Flukes, but constantly hear that I should give the Caffeine Shad a try because they have a "completely different action".

Both work well, SK tends to tear quicker. I stick with Zoom.

Caffeine shad hands down as it swims that tail with every rod twitch in addition to gliding like a fluke.

I use both. They each have a situation where I prefer one over the other.

As a jerk bait I prefer the Zoom, shaky head/C-rig/drop shot I prefer the tail on the Caffeine Shad.

Both are great tools. It's when you start to move away from these two brands for flukes when you have trouble. Just my two cents.

The Z Fluke is a very "stiff" bodied bait, excellent for darting and gliding. The SK Shad is softer and has way more "shimmy/ wiggle" swimming action, and a little heavier, easier to throw a long way. Both have their place.

Shallow presentation: 5/0 wide gap hook, no weight. 1/8 oz. belly weight on same hook for deeper swimmin', but can be used any style. I prefer them for swim/jerk, moving motion/action, lots of quiver and skips really well.

How do you guys fish the caffeine shad? I use a 1/16 tungsten weight and 2 bobber stops. Use the stops to adjust the weight 6-10 inches above the bait. Works really well. Lot of action. This setup is pretty easy to skip way under docks as well.

I tend to throw the fluke more. I think its a confidence for me. I've tried the SK Shad and look the way it looks and works, but haven't caught as many fish on it. Coach
I throw both weightless, weighted belly hook, split shot, and c-rig.

Zoom is cheap and easy to find. I have caught fish on the caffeine shad before, but the Zoom stuff flat out works.
