It is an all in one transducer, which is not necessarily a good thing unless you run an aluminum boat. Most performance bass boats don't have a place on the transom that is in the water when on plane, hence the reason sonar transducers are mounted in the sump area of the boat. A shoot through for fiberglass will read while on plane when properly mounted in the sump area, then coming off place, the structure transducer will read off the transom when back in the water. The Elite TI has a package with a Y cable to allow for this type mounting. If you have aluminum, the transducer will not shoot through the hull and the totalscan is the best way to go. John
