Targeted the carp this week with my pal Clayton aka The Wildman of the navidad and the bite was GREAT! We also caught a few nice sunnies. I Fished Monday with Clayton and he put the "WHAMMY" on me. He caught three BIG carp in the 15 to 20 plus pound range. He also hooked up with his ultra light and lost the fish after a 15 minute fight. He also had one get off with his regular carp rig. He finished the day with a Redbreast and a Channel Cat. All I had was a get off after a very short fight. I finished the day with a adult Longear. Corn and worms was the bait used. I went back today (Wednesday) and fished from 2pm till 5:00pm. I caught three BIG carp and had three get off's. I also caught a nice Redbreast. The three carp I caught were in the 12 to 20 plus pound range. The fish were to big to take a selfie so I took the pictures of the fish laying on the dock and on the ramp leading into the water. Corn was only used as bait. All fish were released on both days to fight again. Catching a few BIG carp and a few nice sunnies. It just don't get any better!

Nice fish! Tried twice for the Carp this past week with not even a run! Trying to figure them out. This past Arctic Front I think has slowed them down a little. There is a warm spell the first part of this week. Gonna give it a try again.



Side Note: What are you chumming with? Will the chum attract the sunfish/other fish?

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Don't feel bad! The last two times I fished for carp I did not get even a run. Saw a couple of nice ones rolling and that was it. As for chumming all I do is throw some can corn out. Clayton has a mix that he makes up to chum with and it seems to work pretty good. As for their patterns all I can say is if they bite they bite! Love that fight.
