Glen Rose or Granbury are around 30 minutes away. But if you stay in Granbury, if you are pulling a boat, stay out on the bypass! I have heard there are a couple of houses to rent in the area closer to the park.

I'd recommend staying in Glen Rose, there's quite few places to stay there. Plus, there's one of the best mexican food restaurants I've ever eaten right there in town. Not to mention that it's maybe a 5 minute ride to squaw from Glen Rose

And if you get a chance go to downtown Glenrose and get you some Buttermilk Pie at Pie Peddlers on the square.

Dan - I believe it was the Holiday Inn right there at 67 and 144 which is on the way to the lake that we have stayed at a few times.

Depends on where you coming from. If coming in on 377 through Granbury stay in Granbury. If coming in on 67 through Glen Rose stay in Glen Rose. Few years ago when the hotel building craze was taking place across the state Glen Rose got their share. We have SIX hotels in this tiny town. No problems finding a room here. Can't vouch for the "battery charger plug in" friendliness of each place but a simple call directly to hotel will answer that important question.
