I have driven the Ranger and it is as expected. Yet I have been looking online at Sabres and they look really good! Main things I am wondering is if they are really 7K better? They have the cheaper rod straps and a few other parts. I really like the idea of a 175 though, but have heard you have to learn to drive them at the top end.

Only reason I am looking at these two is they fit in the garage. If I get cheap I will also look at the triton 189 TRX.

It is super nice looking, but I just don't know if a 7 inch short boat will perform better. Plus the larger price tag adds some uncertainty. I am sure the 175 verse 150 adds some of the cost.

Whatever you do hitch a ride in the sabre before purchase.make sure you can handle the troling motor foot pedal position.it'll haul the mail with a 175.

Trolling motor location was one thing I was wondering about. When your in ruff water how is it hanging over the front end?

It's worth the money to buy a sabre. Will outperform the ranger in every category. I would go with the 150 on the sabre. Still runs low 60's loaded and resale will be fine as most sabres have 150's anyways. The trolling motor location can't be beat for fishing shallow and you will learn to love it in open water. I believe r&r marine has one in stock that is a good deal. Give Steven a call at 9038558585. He made me an awesome deal o my caracal.
