Most folks are fishing near the dam with minnows. I'm not really good with the open water bite. I've been targeting deep submerged trees and brush in 20 to 30 fow near the island. Good luck.

Those folks fishing near the dam are fishing sunken brush piles. Its very effective this time of year.

Another method for open water fishing that you might like is spider rigging. You have out 8 rods, so you look like a spider going down the lake. It takes a bit of an investment, but will last you a lifetime.
Recommend Bee Ready Rod Holders and PAT (Pro Angler Tackle) rods. Also, It is helpful to have a "double down" seat.
Bee Readys are made of stainless steel so you can give them to your grandkids. lol Get the multi-adjustable ones. cool

They are here local in Lucas. Bee Readys dot com thumb

Good luck out there!!

cheers

Yeah, ill second that. Obviously there are fish on the dam, but still plenty of fish to be had elsewhere. Yesterday I had 21 in the box in 3hrs of fishing. 1 rod, 1 jig, no minners harmed. 28ftw.
