What are your favorite jig trailers for winter, spring and summer. Include favorite colors as brand also if you would. Thanks Also you usually match the trailer to the jig or use contrasting colors?

I like something that has little action and something that is dull in color, like black/blue or green pumpkin. My favorite 2 trailers are a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver in Tramp Stamp and a Strike King Rage Tail DB Craw in Green Pumpkin or black/blue.

I lean towards the chunk style trailers in colder water. Just watch 'the rate of fall' as trailers with less action tend to increase the rate of descent. I actually use both matching and contrasting. Black and blue jig, i generally use a blue trailer. With a neon blue jig, I will still use a blue trailer.

Colder water I like a chunk trailer. Zoom Super Chunk normally. Warmer months I prefer the Rage Chunk or if I'm going more finesse, a Speed Craw. I normally match in greens but dip the ends in chartreuse. I also use something close in black and blue, but I like green pumpkin on brown.

rage craw and menace grub, havoc pit boss, reaction innovations beavers, gambler ugly otter, yum craw bug. Hardly ever use chunks ill sub a craw bug in its place...bulky and little action except it looks like an actual crawfish. Craw bugs are actually a tube style bait so if you do the whole fizzy tablet thing there is that too.

I also like chunks and LFT pig claws (which are no longer made) for winter. Spring and summer I use several different brands of craws and colors.

I'll use a Rage Tail trailer most of the time. In warmer water I like the craw or menace because they have a fast flicker rate and a lot of action. The rage tail Lobster is great for cooler water because it has a bigger profile and those big rage tail appendages act like a parachute and really slow down the rate of fall. The yamamoto flappin hog is also great in cold water when I'm letting it sit for a while between movements.

Uncle Josh # 11 black or blue What he said... Dan PS... If you have an Ollies Bargain Outlet nearby stop and check out the "fishing dept.". My brother and I found 25 jars of Uncle Josh #11 pork frogs in their discount bin. Paid a whopping .38 a jar. Some of the jars had very little liquid left in them but we mixed up some brine and they are all in good shape... Dan

In cold water I am really old school, I use a split 6" super float worm cut to about 4 inches long on a 1/2 oz jig. Favorite color combos are all purple, black with brown, blue with black, all brown and all white.

I’ve been getting good bites on a 3/8 ounce jig with Zoom chunk or chunk jr in green pumpkin & green pumpkin purple. Small profile, lazy action, natural colors.
If you can't find em wind em.
