Has anyone purchased a Dobyns Sierra rod? Looking for feedback on them.

Hey Dan don't have a Sierra but have migrated to Fury awesome rods for the money paired w/Lews Mach. Sierra is a step above and I have had one in my hand can't go wrong w/this rod. Love my Cara T7's however been replacing my BuCoo's lately w/Dobyns may pick-up a Extreme or Champion one day. Just my 2cents

Thanks Paul. Looking for a rod in the 6'7" to 6'10" range since it seems I can cast more accurately with this length around brush and stickups. Longer rod ok for more open water. Dobyns Fury doesn't come in that length. Have been fishing ponds a lot lately and doing quite well - biggin's!

Dobyns is moving to Sulphur Springs soon and I you can check out the Dobyns rods at Lake Fork Resort if you would like to look at one. I have the Extreme, Champion and the old Savvy series all are good rods so no doubt the Sierra will be a good rod its light like the Extreme series

I have several of the Sierra series rods and love them. I started using them after they quit making the savvy series line up.

I use the SA 735C and SA 766FLIP.
you will not be dissapointed with them.

I'm sure you will like the SA 683C and SA 684C since you are looking for a rod under 7ft

if you change your mind then the 7' rods will do great too!

Only complaint I have is that their med/hvy (683) is more like a medium. If you need serious backbone go up 1 in power rating than what you would normally buy:

I've got every line of Dobyn's (except for their bottom tier Colt series) and I love the Sierra series rods I've got. They are very sensitive and strong, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I were you.
