So Looking to invest in some serious rain gear for the spring tournament season. Just wanted everyone's opinion on the following.

1. Spend around $1000 and get the best Simms Rain Gear?

2. Buy the top end Cabelas Guide wear on sale for about $600 usually $800?

3. Go with the Bass Pro 200 mph Rain Gear it's about $800?

If anyone knows of anything better I am all ears. I just want good stuff that keeps you warm and dry.

Thank you in advance for the response.

I have Simms and BPS Pro Qualifier and they are both excellent

I wear the BPS stuff when it's cooler and the SIMMS when it's not as cool out and into the summer months

IMO, the Pro Qualifier is just as good as anything else BPS offers

If you are going to spend $800, wait until TW's black Friday sale and get the Simms 20% off

+1, keep an eye out for BPS Black Friday sale. There's gonna be some real goodies on sale. Got a friend, lol.

pretty sure you can buy guidewear for a lot less than $800....watch the bargain bin sales and you can often get mismatched bibs and parka for $250. or less.....my guidewear is 10-12 years old and has worked perfectly all these years....get the uninsulated and just layer under it if fishing cold weather....
I suggested mismatched meaning the colors might not match but having a green top and red bottom wouldn't bother me at all if I can save couple hundred dollars and still keep me dry....

Bps 100 mph suit. It's as good as it gets.

Simms is usually "excluded" from the 20% off... like Diawa / Shimano, etc..

I have the Simms ProDry set. It will keep you dry if you're in a rain "weekend" when it rains over 2 days and you need the suit to keep you dry over time. BPS is great and Cabelas GW is great too. But give any of them the 2 straight day test and tell me which one keeps you dry?

Guidewear

I have used mine extensively and have zero regrets. Used it in Canada and bass fish in Texas year round. Looks new and I've fished hundreds if not thousands of hours in it.

Another check for the Guidewear column. Best rain gear I've owned. In fairness, I haven't spent a day in the rain with 100 or 200mph gear. I considered it but when I tried it on, it felt more like very cold rain gear and I already have clothing for that weather. Guidewear is light, dry and warm but not hot. Also, it doesn't restrict my range of movement.

BPS has the 100 MPH Gore-Tex in the Black Friday sale for $370 for the set -- Bibs and Jacket (4 colors)
This and some Gore Tex hiking boots and your in business.
I'm sure Cabela's will have the Guidewear on sale as well ..... I have Guidewear and have fished lots of days in Dec-Jan-Feb without getting cold or wet.

Simms Challenger and BPS Pro Qualifier are both pretty good in that price range.

I have been using Frogg Togg's Toad Skinz Bibs and Jacket for about 2.5 years now. Spent a little over $100. Best $100 I have ever spent.

100MPH might not be the best out there but is probably the best deal. But it big enough to layer under and you're good until it gets hot. Might purchase a cheaper lighter jacket for later in the spring

I think last year my fishing partner bough his on TW during their black Friday sale

I have never bought Simms there, so I am not sure
