so I have decided to make a quick day trip below the lake whitney dam to target some sunfish. any tips for this specific spot as far as what to fish ? forgive me this will be one of the few times I have ever targeted sunfish

I would use live worms on a size 6 or 8 hook. Ultralight rig with 6 lbs test line. Use a size five shot about 4 to 6 inches from the bait. Would cast by brush piles,docks,structure,etc. Try to find drop offs and fish the edges. Never fished your area before but these pointers will work anywhere. Side Note: Strong cold front will be blowing in dropping temperatures. Sunfish will be scattered and moving to deeper water. hmmm
