Quick trip to Bethany Lakes this morning. No Bruisers but was able to get more practice with the OPST Commando Head on the backup 5wt fly rod. Even caught four fish... Video.

Thanksgiving break is nearing; hope to get some fishing in. For now, been adding fishing flies to the flybox as often as possible... adding two Near Deere this session! Near Deere.

Thanksgiving break is nearing; hope to get some fishing in. For now, been adding fishing flies to the flybox as often as possible... adding two Near Deere this session! Near Deere. Was able to make the run across the border to Oklahoma a fish the Near Deere for stocker trout at Turner Falls Park. Fun time... did lose one Near Deere to a "tree fish" but it's an easy pattern to tie! below is a video snippet of the last fish of day!

Another round at Turner Falls Park for trout. Two of us limited out before calling the trip short due to the windy conditions. Still lots of fun! Video snippet of some of the action is posted below.

Too nice a day to pass up Turner Falls for more trout fishing. Took longer to get the last fish to make a limit. But, did limit out! Fun stuff!

Lengthy video of the three day trips we took to Turner Falls last weekend. Had a great time trout fishing the river! Added an overview of the area we fished that may be of interest to some. Do check out the video when you get the chance!

Fished the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens for trout Saturday; fun time fishing on a warm November day! Used fly rods and bubble/fly rigs on spinning gear to catch them... fun stuff! Video posted!

Quick trip to check out the action at South Lakes in Denton. Caught several little Bluegill; did see others catch trout. Fun stuff!

Fished a new place this past weekend. A small neighborhood pond recently stocked with trout. Only caught one but still good to get out and wet a line on a warmer than usual Saturday.

I went to Caruth park for an Orvis 201 fly fishing class last year. It's a neat little pond.

...as in past years, we like to modify the schedule posted by TPWD by sorting the info in a spreadsheet. This year we do it again. Check it out for those planning to fish this trout stocking season in Texas. We do recommend checking TPWDs updates as schedules change due to weather, unexpected things, etc... in our case, we print out the document and pen and ink it with updates as the season progress. Spreadsheets are useful but still not as fun as fishing! PDF Post.Found a way to post the spreadsheet version of the pdf file... details.
