Have any of ya'll ever drift fished on Lake Aquila for blues this time of year? I am wondering if it would be any good.

I am setting on aquilla as I type this lol. No need to drift right now, If you don't mind a few scratches on your boat head north until you can't go anymore, trim the skeg down into the mud, and get busy. Tons of eaters up there right now. A few bigger fish too.

Drifting is tough on Aquila because there are lots of hang ups on the bottom of the lake. I have tried it twice and caught fish, but hung up as much as any lake I have ever drifted on.

I appreciate the responses. I am surprised to hear they are ganged up in 1-2 of water. I wasn't expecting that. I caught them in the exact same place this past early spring.

Last weekend we caught them in the main lake on jug lines and drifting. Had to fight the wind all day, blew 10-20 out of the South. Had a 20+ we release to catch next time and a 15+ along with 6 good eaters that ranged from 5-8.
