I haven't tried one yet, but Dobyns Rods just brought out their Colt series at a price point of $79.99. http://dobynsrods.com/rod/cl-705cb/If they're anywhere near as good as their higher series (Champion, Savvy, Fury...which I have quite a few of), they will be a winner. If you want a little higher performance/quality, they have a CB rod in their Fury line at $109.99 http://dobynsrods.com/rod/fr-705cb/

I've been looking at crank bait rods as well, and haven't heard almost anything but glowing reviews for the Dobyns fury 705 for $109.99. Only decision left for me is whether to get that or splurge and get the same rod in the Champions line with fiberglass/graphite for double the price...

I had it and my Duckett Micro Magic Pro ($160?) hooked up yesterday side by side and liked the Dobyns WAY better. Now, I haven't used the Champion series Dobyn's, but if they are "way" better than the Fury series, then WOW. I guess that's what I'll have to ask for for Christmas! ;-) PS My primary technique is shallow and mid cranking.

Looked like a good deal - they probably have a coupon if you sign up for their email thing that could get you another 20% off ---- don't know. Never used a TFO.

I am with Bigguy1 on this. What kind of rod are you looking for, besides CB? If you are going DEEP cranking, the Dobyns doesn't handle the 10XD very well, it is NOT rated for it. Either of the Colt or Fury lines. But if you want an all around CB rod, the Fury is an excellent choice. Just depends on what you are looking for. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
