I'm gonna be at Garner next week. From what I've read I expect to catch a bunch of bluegills maybe some bass. It looks like really clear water. Thinking a small crappie jig under a float might be my go to and I might end up going back to a good ole night crawler and split shot. Any tackle suggestions as far as what works down that way?

Thanks

I fished Garner State Park last week and caught a few nice Redbreast below the dam. There were a lot of people there walking the bank which could scare a lot of the bigger fish. The Frio River flows through the park. I was using a ultralight combo by Shakespeare with six pound test line, size five shot, and live worms as bait. I was not using a float and fished off the bottom. Fish by the deeper pockets for the best results. Let us know how you do. thumb

Side Note: I fished from 9am till noon. I would have had better results during the afternoon bite and if fewer people were there. eeks

Fished the Frio last spring. Loved it. Beautiful scenery and some nice fish. Kayaked the Canyon for three days.
