For the last month our slip at Harbor Master @ Whitney that we have baited out with bamboo and have always caught crappie is just loaded up with black bass . We have caught then for the last 3 weeks one after another all the way up to 5lbs. No wonder the crappie are not there .

May your wiener schnitzel always stay above your lederhosein.

Bass taste very similar to crappie, keep 'em! Clear out that slip to make room for the crappie...

Smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted bass are all delicious, close to crappie, and certainly better than sandies, striper, and hybrids

Those bass are always hanging out where the crappie at at. I think they eat more of them than we catch. A lot of brush washed down into Neely Slough at PK last year during heavy rains and with the lake super clear in the spring, I could easily spot big black bass cruising around this brush. Unfortunately, PK has a 16 inch min length for Bass. Once they get that big, I tend to throw them back as they might have too much Mercury. At Fork with the slot, they go straight into the ice.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
