Hit a underground bridge yesterday, Prop bent (send to Josh), can a skeg be repaired? 225 Pro XS. Heard was not recommended.

Amistad, 277N had a good track, lower unit was too low in the water..Not too bad of damage. Need to check hull.

Might as well drop the lower unit and check everything. Have seen the main shaft bend also. Have seen some just chip off a pinion gear tooth shortly after an impact. Hope you have insurance. I would replace the complete lower unit. Two Guys may have one.

Hope its not a torquemaster, those suckers are expensive.

Goggle Skeg Guard...You can put it on yourself..$100. They are made of SS and slide over existing skeg...2 screws

No.

That skeg is the only control you have on a boat at speed. It's not made to replace the skeg, only guard one.
I would at a minimum replace the case.

That is a RH 1.75 Torquemaster $5600.00.

Heres the sticker on my service master. I have no clue how to decipher them. These are half the price of the torquemaster.

Looked it up and it is a torque master. No skeg guard is going on. Going to shop today insurance tomorrow.

Good call. Make sure that they replace with a Torquemaster. Insurance companies will try anything to save a buck.

You should do some research, skeg is only to protect the prop.
