Looking for some private water near Houston to take my 5 & 9 yr old grandsons fishing. No boat but we do have kayaks. We just moved here from Bentonville, AR and are used to fishing streams and rivers which were clear. Every public place I’ve been too is very crowded. We have fished the drainage ditches but most have pretty steep banks. Not sure if I need to join a club or something similar to guarantee their success. I’ve spent some time on google and only found a couple of options and a couple which are still shut down due to flooding. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Urban areas of Texas are now very overrun and overcrowded, best to get outside the urban decay and chaos to find something.

here is the link to perhaps the #1 resource for private water fishing in Texas

Same here. Been asking for a couple of years with not takers. I want to join; but looks like I have an equipment problem with a couple of different size boats needed to get into all of them. I will gladly pay the daily fee to gain the knowledge of what I need to fish these lakes from small boat with no motor to larger jon boat with a motor.

Go check th PW website. You can fish as a guest, but I believe it has to be on a weekday. Their business model though is not going to be just to fish one day. Check the FAQ's on their site.

I understand that you can fish as a guest. That doesn't help. I want to fish with someone in the know of what is going on; plus I do not have the small equipment to access most of them. Before I invest a small fortune in equipment to fish 3 different size bodies of water with rules of what your boat can and cannot have; I need to go with a member that knows his stuff.

Am I missing something here?
How can you be a guest if you don't know a member? When a club of any sort welcomes guests, it always require one to be accompanied by a member. Oh, and weekdays only... that's just awesome.

Send a PM to Brett Rowley. His name is fishbreeder on the TFF. He has a private waters club down here.

Let me try and answer some of the questions about Private Water Fishing. And thanks for the kind words from so many.

1) You must be a member in order to fish. We do not allow guest fishing unless you are a guest of a member.
2) We fish 7 days a week, not just weekdays. BTW, we generally rest the lakes between trips. So, most lakes are fished 5 to 10 times a month.
3)Your reservation makes sure that you and/or your group are the ONLY ones on the lake. No other members will join you. Most private fishing clubs allow their members to come and go anytime, which is convenient, but you never know if 6 people were there the day before or if 6 will be fishing with you today. It is very very Private.
4) We lease 70 lakes and approx 10 of these have concrete boat ramps where you can launch any size boat. Another 10 lakes have boats with trolling motors and batteries are provided. Approx 75% of all lakes one can launch a 17 foot or smaller aluminum boats unless we have had a ran event in the previous couple of days.
5) We added 11 new lakes in 2017 so our offerings are always increasing.
