I had a hard time finding a bite at first. I did get one on a top water around some deep water, 26 more on T/R plastic fishing in 14 to 20 feet. But on this trip I was blessed with few over five pounds. That in itself made the trip worth while. Also saw black spots on a few fish so they are about to get going good. One was 5.2 and the other one was 5.10. Over all it was a fun day and I fished more areas than I normally do, so I covered some water. They have dropped the water level somewhere between 8 to 12 inches and the water is cooling down. I saw water temps from 72 to 76 degrees, but still noting up shallow for me. It's coming though. But with the water level down like it is be sure to keep in mind that the ramp is slick as all get out. Be very careful where you plant your feet and always try to be holding on to something, it is slick.

I'm still waiting on the big girls to move shallow. Then I can take the fly rod and kayak out there and catch a few. Or maybe one of my fishing buddies will take me with him on his bass boat Thanks for the report

My post may sound little arrogant saying I had a slow day with a catch of 27, but the truth is thats how it felt to me. I had to cover a lot of water and dig hard to find those that I did. In the first three hours I only had one bite and one fish. The bite did not get going until around 4pm. Between 4 and 6 are when things began to turn around for me. I almost went home early, but Im sure glad I stuck it out and kept on looking.

Vogey I saw your post, you guys got em up shallow. I only threw top water up shallow, never found a reaction so went back out in deeper water.
I could kick myself in the tail end for not going today, perfect fishing weather and I feel about half decent. Should a could a would a I guess.

Not real sure when I'll be back out, I'm having Radiofrequency Treatment on my lower left back tomorrow and the right side done in two weeks. Some times I get good results and then some times I don't, but I know it helps a little every time, so I'm doing it again. It is supposed to cauterize the nerve. I chose no sedation, so I'm wide awake when this is done. It isn't as bad as some may think, but very few chose to stay awake. Me, I don't like sedation..... Heck I'm in and out, plus I can get back to doing what ever I want as soon as they are through. I hope I get good results, I'm ready to get a good nights sleep for a change. Better sleep equals sharper mind for fishing. LOL

I had around 30 friday. Most came shallow early on traps and chatterbait in the grass. Nothing with any size though.

I thought about tying on a chatter bait just for grins, but I was going to work it in about six feet around edge of grass lines.

Well I had that Radiofrequency Treatment on my lower left back yesterday and I slept better plus I feel much better this morning. Probably the best results I have ever received from this treatment, or maybe I waited so long this time before having it done that anything would have been better than what it was. When you experience pain somewhere in your body it will distract your concentration during a fishing trip so Im hoping this will now allow me to hone in on my bait presentation a little more so I can increase my strike percentage. Fishing artificial baits is all about tricking fish into striking at it. Just the smallest change in presentation can make you or break you from a good day. I always try different presentations in order to try and figure out what they like the best. I have read articles that claim fish will follow your bait back to the boat and never strike at it due to its movement. Have you ever tied on the same bait as your partner but your partner was the one catching all the fish? Thats because of that one little thing he was doing that you were not that triggered his bite. I also keep several T/R plastic rods on deck with different size weights because the speed of the fall can make a huge difference between a strike or fish turning their nose up to it.
