Tried for bluegill yesterday with zero success. The hydrilla has gotten so thick around the reedbeds that it is hard to fish...the trolling motor was constantly plugged. Tried out in deeper water around trees and caught zero there also...did get broke off by a bass, however. Had a good day for bass (see freshwater report) and caught what I am told is a Gasper goo ?? (see pic) Any recent advice on Fayette bluegill would be appreciated. We did see an Osprey catch a pretty big bluegill, so I know they are there...

to be more direct on your question, I would sneak up on under water points and humps and fish about 2-4 feet deep, dropshot.

Side Note: Lake is loaded with nice Bluegill/Redear. Sometimes they are just very hard to find. hide2

Decided to target just bass yesterday...shallow areas are inundated with hydrilla, so will wait til spring to go after sunnies...Thanks for all the help guys...really appreciated. You can check out bass report from yesterday on Freshwater section...will probably target Dunlap next week...

The suns are in the edges of that grass. You just ease into and start dropping all around the boat looking for a pocket. If you dont find one, move 5 feet and drop down all around. Once you find a pocket, youll pull one after the other out of that same 3x3 spot.

And I feel like they want access to deeper (escape) water, which why I ease into those points on either side
