... put this question in the wrong section earlier ....
has anyone tried using a football jig head with wire guards to fish a Senko wacky style in deep water ?

Berkley, Gamakatsu and Trokar make hooks with wire guards to fish wacky style worms.

Just like an AGGIE .......
the question was not "Who makes hooks with wire guards to fish wacky style worms".

THANKS though ..... I do appreciate your effort.
you must have just got back from a road trip to Mississippi and are little shell shocked.

.... the question was ......... see above.

Yes I have on a shaky head hook with a drop shot tied above it. Fishing 2 wacky rigs at one, that way. I DO NOT use the hooks with the wire keepers. I just hook the baits thru the egg sack and let it go at that, burying the hook so it is somewhat weedless. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Just add a clam shot one the line right above the hook eye, you will get down fast. No to trying football jig heads

this is my "standard" wacky rig setup ...... with various sizes of clam weights...... for various drop rates.

Ok to answer your question, it's kinda dumb to use a football jig head to wacky fish a worm IMO so I don't. I use a hook with a weed guard and if I want to fish it deep I peg a 1/4 oz. weight about a foot above the hook and that let's the wacky rig work as it should. Glad you watched the game though. Team is a little week this year with a freshman QB but we played the number 1 team in the country better than anyone else has. Don't comprehend "dumg humor". Maybe next time. thumb

No to the football head, seems a little much. But you can buy jig heads with a weedguard. I've used those with good success.
