First MAJOR COLD front will arrive Friday night. eeks Highs Saturday in the low 60's with lows in the 30's. Looks like the cooler temperatures will be around for awhile. How will this effect sunfish fishing? hmmm

It effected the sunfish where I was fishing already, Seemed like they were all on a diet. frown

Worms will still be able to catch big fish in deeper water but ff'ing the creeks for Sunnies is over until next year for me. I'm looking forward to catching some Stripers and hybrids.

Sitting on my porch and feeling the front coming through. Cold north wind. Looks like next week should be pretty good with temperatures warming up to the low eighties. hmmm

For shallow water fishing, sunfish will be harder to find. The afternoon bite will be the best. Fish by weed/grass beds. Take advantage of the warm spells before the winter and when the sunnies start limiting their movement and become very hard to find. In water bodies that have deeper water, fish can easily be found in water 12 to 16 feet deep holding by ledges and drop offs. Docks in that depth will also be holding fish. The bigger sunnies usually become pretty active during this time of the year. thumb

Side Note: Once winter sets in fish will be holding by brush piles in 17 to 25 feet of water! Slow retrieve and patients will have good results if you can find em. cheers
