Anyone have any suggestions for fishing spots anywhere from Rockport to Corpus that my wife and I can fish from shore or pier? She can't walk long distances or wade due to a recent surgery but she's dying to catch a few fish.

I would advise fishing the jetty adjacent to the USS Lexington aircraft carrier in CC Bay. It has a concrete walkway along its length, and you can catch some nice trout there casting soft plastics on a 1/8 oz jig head, or tossing spoons or twitch baits, especially in the morning. If you just want to catch a few fish, it is also a good spot to catch some croaker this time of year on dead shrimp, or Berkley Gulp 3" swimming mullets or shrimp on a light 1/16 oz jighead. Another good place to fish with your stipulations is the Red Dot pier on the Kennedy Causeway located on the Humble channel. It is short, and has nice bench seats that Im sure your wife would appreciate. Live shrimp freelined or under a popping cork give you a good chance of catching trout, redfish, drum or flounder.

In Rockport, the breakwater/pier at the end of Market Street is OK, and has lights at night. Just North of the Rockport Marina, there's a concrete pier out into the bay, and the seawall just in front of the Rockport Aquarium is a decent place to fish. A lot of the fishing piers in Rockport got hammered in Harvey. Lots of people fish from shore in Little Bay, just North of the Marina.

Catch 'em up! IslandJim

Awesome advice. We hit the pier late last night and had a good time. Hit the jetti this afternoon and had a awesome day. The front had just started moving through and we hit a 30" red, trout, croaker, and mangrove snapper on live shrimp. It was a perfect day! Thank you!

Thank you. We're going to hit Rockport tomorrow if she's still up to it. I appreciate the help!
