Going to be taking a trip to lake Whitney in the next week or 2 and I have never been there! Heard the lake is fishing good right now so I figured I'd give it a shot! With that being said I'm hoping someone could PM me some decent coves and kind of a starting point to get on some fish since I'll be there for a day and a half to fish. Not looking for anyone's secret spots by any means but just a decent starting point or some advice! I'm going to be staying around Cedar Creek or Bear creek (on navionics it has both of those names so I'm not sure which one it actually is) and wanting to head towards Morgan Lakeside park. Is that safe to run if I stay in the river channel or are there any spots I need to be careful in or is it a bad idea all together? Like I say I'm just looking for someone to give me a heads up on running the lake and some decent water to hit!

Thanks!

Also around island in front of McCown now if you Google earth south of the island if you roll back level there is a foundation you will see a driveway on it right on the break. Save the GPS and try there

It's not too bad from lakeside to the bridge, just be sure to watch your map and graph for depth.

Are you saying that the area by Cedron creek across from the lake from McCown Valley is a good place this time of year? We are headed there for the first time tomorrow and would like to put my young son on some fish.

just run the river channel north of Cedar Creek and you are good as far as you want to run until you run out of water.

Good water in Cedar Creek, Cedron, both Rocky Creeks, up the river. Fun lake

How far have you guys ran certain times of the year to bass fish up river?

I go as far as I can to catch sandbass when they spawn sometimes, but was wondering how far folks run up river to just target bass?

Looking for any more general info. Thinking about putting in at McCown Valley in the morning.
