So, yesterday, I set the hook hard directly under the boat in 9' of water.....the rod slipped from my hand and my left index finger was completely dislocated (facing hard right from it's joint at my hand)....I was able to get the digit reseated into the joint with a fair amount of pain.
The rod floated up, I retrieved it and brought a huge needlenose gar to the surface.....just as the 50lb braid broke, my finger began to really hurt.
Not sure if my feelings weren't hurting more.

Today the hand/finger are fubar.

Still better than not fishing.

Athens, 7 bites, 4 bass, all under 3lbs. A grind to say the least.

I am sure that needs some attention. A Xray would be nice to make sure everything is back in place like it should be. If not you will see problems down the road later in life. Get it taken care of and sorry for you pain.

I ripped my ulnar nerve loose back in June on a cast. Lost feeling from elbow down towards end of July from it being pinched. Surgery fixed it in August.

But a finger ouch. If everything feels normal with it. Should b fine. Not much a doctor will do for a finger but tape it or splint ur hand depending on if u have any other issues regarding muscle or ligament

So the bait was in my hands in the center box. The lid (I think) got stepped on causing it to shut. I quickly tried getting my hands out before they got shut in it. The bait snagged the carpet and stopped but my hands kept going. What can I say I'm a special kind of stupid! Lol

Dang!!! Was it a Ranger? Those center lids are Trump huuuuuge!!! Fished with a buddy yesterday. We pulled up to our first spot, he started messing in the back deck compartment. The boat was drifting toward a dock so I jump on the front deck to drop the troller and get it headed down the bank. Went to turn around not knowing he had the center locker opened to get his rods out. As I was starting to fall down (I could see his arse over the top of lid)I have know idea how I kind of rolled off to the side. I could have came straight down on the lid and crush him in the lid. Could have been a lot worse. Your hands are going to be sore for a couple of days. At least you had someone with you. That would have been pretty difficult to drive anywhere for assistance. If you ever get pulled over you could probably get out of a ticket if you tell the officer "please don't arrest me, I've been handcuffed already. Actually by myself". Show him the picture. If I was a cop, I'd let you go without a warning.

I have dislocated 2 fingers and reset both myself (almost an automatic action as soon as i saw them pointing the wrong way) both time they started to really hurt about 10mins later. I would say as long as you have full range of motion, then you are ok. Obviously swelling is going to impede that motion on Day 2. But if you are at all worried about it then go get it checked out, but i suspect there isnt much they can tell you other than "Yep, you dislocated it all right, here have some stuff to fix the swelling"

... then again i am not a doctor lol
