Been seeing a lot of videos of folks using the Whopper Plopper. Looks interesting.
Has anyone here used them?
Do you like them?
And, of course, as everyone wants to know, do they seem to work?

You'll get plenty of blow ups on that one, but no hookups

Not gonna lie. I have thrown it at fork, athens, squaw, possum kingdom, ray hubbard and ray roberts with no luck... I just have way more confidence in the spook than the WP. Im sure it works and I will continue to throw it until I get a bite, just one of those things I guess.

They were a great bait the first 2-3 years they were quietly being used. Then about 2 years ago they hit the mainstream and now everyone has 2 or 3 it seems.

I think a lot of fish are getting conditioned to them a bit as crazy as it sounds.

I doubt theyre conditioned to it already if that was the case chrome and blue rattle traps wouldnt even get a second look by a fish

I have a couple that I will be glad to give away.
I've been throwing them all year, slow steady retreive and short twitches, with no strikes. I'll go back through an area with a buzzbait and get bit. I would throw a tiny torpedo before I hang another whopper flopper on my line.

I still think they see a ton of them. Just my opinion. I know I have had less bites on mine in similar conditions and lakes where they crushed them when no one knew about them. Everyone throws them it seems.

Me too, just hasn't ever been a producer for me. I'll take a buzzbait.
