Just got here and have never been. Is the lake safe to run everywhere?

Yes. Just stay in middle of lake and run from bridge to dam. No problem.

Idle into and out of the big cove on the left as you near the dam. There are other places to be careful but the main lake is safe if you stay in the middle.

It's a shame that this forum has developed a "quiet" streak.....but, it has.
Athens has two big main lake points with some timber.
They are not well marked.
As others have stated, stay center-cut & you'll be good.
But be careful, as it's you first time.
It's 2000 acres....who needs to hurry?

He "means". Instead of simply answering the question of "is it safe to run", you also supposed to divulge every last waypoint and the baits used at each waypoint.

Don't be stingy man. C'mon.

Nope.....not even close. I "mean" exactly what I typed.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Guy asked a question, the responses were thin at best.
I've noticed alot of that lately.
Why the hell would I want your waypoints.....I enjoy "catching" fish.
Thanks for playing.

If you enjoy catching....you darn sure don't want MY waypoints.

Maybe folks are quiet about running Athens, since it literally is one of the safest to run lakes between Dallas and Atlanta, Georgia.

I thought it was pretty good that 2 guys jumped in pretty quick and told the guy he could run the lake. The guy said he was there. I figured he wanted an answe fast. Wow. Fish22222222222 you must be hard to please.

Whoa whoa. I'm not trying to pick a fight. Just don't understand why anyone would comment our responses were "thin". What are you wanting? Me to drive to athens and chauffeur him around the lake? He got his question answered. I wasn't going to break down every cove and point, nor would I ever expect anyone to do the same for me. That's all.

Pick a fight????
Huh??
Nothing could be less of a concern.
It's all good Frank.
I just thought someone would have mentioned the timber on the two big points....especially since a boat was damaged beyond repair just a couple months ago.
Again, all good.

Besides, I never said a word about "breaking down coves", waypoints, or any other "fishing" advice.

Have a good day.
