My son and I going to Whitney for first time sat. We are staying at arrowhead. (We were suppose to go last weekend but our plans changed). If anyone has been on lake last few days and has a report, please PM me.
I've heard it's a beautiful lake. I'm looking forward to it.
How long will the boat ride be from arrowhead all the way up the river?
Thanks

Fished it for a few hours yesterday morning. Stayed in Cedar Creek. It was super slow until a rain storm came through, then started getting bit on a square bill. Water temp was 81.

Lake has been pretty good. There is a pretty big tourney this weekend media bass I think. The run from arrowhead up river is a pretty good run.

Well I was going to post a results for today(Friday) and it never happened. Told my father(84 years old!) I would take him fishing this morning to Whitney. Woke real early to rain in Glen Rose. Looked like it was supposed to quit early. Called him & said we would leave later than normal. Weather showed it even heavier towards Whitney. 9:00am & still raining pretty good here. Called my dad & gave him a "rain check" literally. I like fishing in the light rain especially w/the cooler temps today but loading up early & dragging your boat down the highway in the pouring rain (plus everything getting filthy w/road grime) before sunup just seemed wrong today. Turned out to be a good cool cloudy afternoon. Hope y'all get on them tomorrow. I usually put in @ Cedar Creek and fish midlake. It is a long run from Arrowhead up into the river. Not saying they are not there because there are resident fish always in the river but I would concentrate mid-lower lake. Friend told me last week they were up real shallow but not way back in creeks yet. More main lake or outer portion of bigger coves w/deep water close. Good luck & post your results so I can take my dad next week!
