most likely plankton and such, it gets real active in the water column in certain places of the lake during sunset. fairly common

Looks like something is messed up. Ur getting a triple reading it looks like. Could be electrical interference.

That looks crazy and I've never seen that before. Does it do it in deeper water? Thermoclines (depending on the lake) may be in 25 feet of water or in clearer lakes will be maybe around 31-33 feet deep and may look like one of those thick areas but solid going down to the bottom (not two or three layers like a seven layer bean dip lol).

I'm wondering if it's maybe just way too much sensitivity for that shallow of water since you're only in 10 feet. That screen looks blazing hot to me with sensitivity judging by how bright and overwhelming the floor of the lake appears. Hard to tell from pictures though. I know if you jack the sensitivity way up sometimes it can show you the floor of the lake like 2 to 3 times up in the water column (I've done it on 2D sonar but not DI) I guess because there is too much energy which I'm suspicious may be happening in your photo. Play with sensitivity and see if it goes away.

Here is a video of a guy getting a double echo on his 2D sonar by having sensitivity way too high up....about halfway through the video.

Seaark builds a good boat, but it's not a good rough water boat because of the deadrise. I would suspect that his is a little anemic with the Honda 90. The '72s are made of .125" aluminum and they are really heavy. My 1872 has an Etec 90 and there are times I wish I had gone bigger. The 2472s really need a 200-225 HP motor.

Let me know what you figure out on the unit. Crazy that it only does it at night.

I love love love my seaark but mainly because of how I customized it (I have a yotube video about it called "Seaark 2472 MV transformation")!! I hated working with the dealer and seaark though. Horrible experience! They would tell me if I ordered the boat now I would get it in two to three months....six months went by and finally got it. "Should be here this week", never shows up and I find out nope it will be here next week. Next week comes and goes, etc.... It was on the wrong trailer (galvanized vs the aluminum).

I am glad I went all out and got the 2472! I'm happy with my 90 hp Honda too. One day I may upgrade to a 130 IF my Honda goes out or I start guiding. My boat goes about 25-28 mph with four people in it and little effect when more people get in it.and I have no intentions of getting a huge motor and hauling butt across the lake like a bass boat. It cuts waves much better than my old aluminum boat without the modified vee but it can be a wet ride when super windy out. BUT I didn't buy it with intentions and hopes of it performing like a Carolina skiff or high dollar bass boat, I bought it because its a boat for a life time and bullet proof!!

Overall I would recommend a seaark but be aware that dealing with them was frustrating in the buying process (maybe it was the dealer, maybe its the main headquarters).

I suspect your issues were with your dealer. Mine was great. I changed options a couple of times during the process and it was seamless. Seaark will build a one off and that's one of the reasons I went with them, just so I wasn't paying for unwanted options on a dealer stock boat on the lot.
Mine took 10 weeks to build from order to delivery and that is what was promised at the sale. No complaints here.

The only problem I have had was getting return calls and information from Seaark, but I'm going through the same thing now with Robalo. I think it just goes with the industry. After you have written the check, they really have no need to talk to you. Fortunately, I'm in the marine business and I can solve just about all of my issues on my own. The dealer takes care of the Etec end so I'm covered across the board. It's a great boat and I have no issues/ Like you, it does what I bought it to do. It's my lake service call boat, freshwater fishing boat, and with a hydraulic jack plate, it's all I could ask for in a bay boat. With the 3 degree deadrise it's a rough ride in the chop and would never make it in the north Texas lakes with the wind they have, but I don't go there and I pick my weather windows when I can. I cruise mine at about the same speed. I don't see a need for a bigger motor. The difference in price for +3-4 MPH just doesn't justify it. Plus, if there's any chop you can't run much faster without getting beat to death.

My dealer did say it's taking up to 6 months to get boats he orders but that may be attributed at least in part to the recent buyout and hopefully the kinks will get ironed out. I hope it's not because the bean counters are cutting corners. I've heard Seaark is expanding their facility. I don't plan on having to buy another boat so I'm just on the outside looking in.

Probably so. I can see a dealer saying "We have one slot left to fill from Seaark for the year and if you order now we will get it to you in two months" just to get a deal. It was the dishonesty that I hate more than the wait and could have been the dealer's fault 100%.
