 Grasshoppers for Carp?

Do grasshoppers & crickets make good carp bait? Never tried it. Tried all sorts of other stuff, canned corn being the very best. Gson "really-really" wants to catch decent size carp and I've got quite a grasshopper surplus in the pasture.  Ten years old and he's already well started his lifetime catch list.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

More likely the catfish and sunfish will eat your grasshoppers first.

I've caught plenty carp on grasshoppers but every fish in the water eats them so they are not a great bait to specifically target carp.

Yes Sir they do. I have caught many of Carp on Night Crawlers.
