What kind of cooler do you take on the water with you? I usually just go out with a power bar in my pocket and a water bottle but recently have wanted to start going out longer and notice that I'm starving by the time I get back to my pickup. Just seeing if you have a particular brand style that works well for a full day of food and drinks. I.e. Sandwiches, cokes, etc. not looking to drop Yeti money (or add Yeti weight). Looking for something that can bungee easily in front of or behind my trusty milk crate.

I usually use the Coleman in the photo. It will hold 5 bottles of water/Gatorade, a banana and energy bars, and enough ice to keep things cold all day.

To minimize weight I modified an igloo and a slightly bigger ozark trail soft sided cooler with the double sided aluminum insulation bubble wrap. I then used the aluminum HVAC tape to seal the DIY liner/box I've used the same insulation wrapping and hvac tape to make coozies for Powerade bottles and water jugs The added insulation definitely helps on days hotter than 90 degrees

Bucees soft sided cooler. $ 20. Can fit a 20# bag of ice, but an 8# fits better. I usually just freeze a gallon jug of water ( minus a little water for expansion) and put that in. Snacks, sandwiches, whatever go in zip bags.
8 pounds of ice will typically get you through a hot day. Bucees bag will last a long time and will fit just about anywhere on the kayak. I put mine in the bow of my Commander just to trim out the load. It fits within the kayak so there's no added wind load.
Anyway, I think it's a great bag with a detachable liner for the money. I have no affiliation with Bucees.

8 pounds of ice will typically get you through a hot day. 8lb bag lasts ~6 hours on summer day. I typically fish considerably longer -- that is why I switch to 20lb bag somewhere in June. If you get into fish -- just drain water and dump some ice out to make space.

I have an RTIC 40 soft side. Works great as long as the wind is not blowing too hard, then it acts like a sail.....
