Awesome event this weekend, tournament is on Lake Grapevine with weigh in at Cabelas. There will be a live release trailer to haul the fish back to Grapevine once weigh in concludes. 100% of the proceeds are donated to Cooks Childrens Medical center. They also have a kid fish event throughout the day at Cabelas where kids can come catch some of those toads in the Cabelas pond with weigh ins and prizes for the kiddos. Even if you cant fish the tournament it would be a great day to come out with the kids and enjoy the festivities and donate to a great cause. Who all is going?

The 8th Annual "Cara Young Fish-for-Life" charity bass tournament benefitting "Cook Children's Hospital" will be on Sunday September 17th at Lake Grapevine. All anglers/teams may pre-register (no money needed) by PM on TFF, text message to 214-801-2611, or email at sgbhs@yahoo.com. Anglers may also register at the host ramp (Katy's Woods) the morning of this event starting at 5:00am.

Open registration and angler check-in will start at 5:00am at "Katy's Woods" boat ramp. All anglers/teams will be allowed to proceed to their fishing spots with first cast at 7:00am and last cast at 2:00pm. All anglers/teams will then proceed immediately to "Cabela's" in Fort Worth for the off-site weigh-in. All anglers/teams must be in line at the tanks no later than 3:30pm. THERE WILL BE A LIVE-RELEASE TRAILER AT THIS EVENT!

FREE KIDS FISHING DERBY: There will be a "Free Kids Fishing Derby" at the pond at Cabela's from 9:00am until 2:00pm featuring hourly weigh-in's and prizes for the BIG FISH each hour!

Wanted to fish this but couldnt make it work. How many boats did you get out and what did it take to win?

I think they were around 30 teams, took 17 lbs and change to win the Grapevine tournament. The kids tournament at the Cabelas pond was won with a 6 lb toad! The lucky young man won himself a kayak for that fish.
