Fished with my neighbor on Sunday , he had bought minnows for his grandaughters to use,
but they decided to sleep in.
We caught fish on minnnows and jigs , It seemed that a jig with a minnow head was the
best presentation. I caught fish with a jig and minnow tail , and jig with whole minnow,
but the jig and minnow head seemed to be the best combo.

what is your favorite way to fish jig/minnow ?

I just hook my minnows through the lip with jig. Always caught fish. To be honest it doesn't matter how you hook your minnows. They're going to take it. If I don't have minnows a jig works just fine for me. Even cut up shad is deadly. Used the shad head and caught them. We cut up 2" to 3" shad and dropped it down. Bam!! If they're hungry they'll take it. My two cent!

I Experimented with this alot this summer, jig vs hooked lipped minnow vs parts of dead minnow in a hook vs minnow tipped jig. Minnow outfished them all, minnow parts a close 2nd once they got into a frenzy, then minnow tipped jig, then jig. Color of the jig made big differences. Craziest observation this summer I actually caught more fish when the kids were swimming and jumping in off the dock. But only with the radio shut off! Radio=no crappie

But drop something in the boat or slam a box lid, it's over!!!

While I fish predominantly with jigs, I still enjoy a minnow under a cork in the spring. Watching that cork slowly disappear, or turn up on its side...brings back memories of fishing with dad and my own son.
A piece of crappie skin, or any kind of scaled fish, can work just as good as a minnow.
