My wife and I plan on going to Travis lake this weekend. I haven't put a boat in there in about 12 or so years. Back then the lake was so low that the ramp and Mansfield dam was one of the only usable ramps at the time. I remember launching wasn't an issue but when i went to leave that evening it was about a 2 hour wait to get my boat out. I know the lake level is up now and that its probably not an issue but was wondering what other public ramps are in that area or on the west side of the lake. Any help would be appreciated.

I was wondering about Travis ramps myself. I asked on a "Team Hooligan" post about ramps. I think they spend alot of time there. Have very much enjoyed their videos. I didn't get an answer. Not sure I want to go there now that school is out. Will look more into it when school starts again. As far as whats open, I would think they are all open with the lake level being at 97%. I guess just get on Google maps or Navionics and look up ramps, hope for the best.

we were out on Travis just a few weeks ago. Pace Bend Park has 2 ramps with decent parking and access. The problem we found was there wasn't any type of pier or dock to tie up to once you launched or when getting ready to load.

We ended up using Siesta Shores Marina. Coming from the West on 71 it was closest to us and we didn't have to deal with the Austin traffic. Was more of recreation day then a fishing day. Gotta say, with 20mph winds out of the South and 40' yachts riding around half on plain it made for some interesting water in the main parts of the lake.

I live on the road to Pace Bend Park. My preference is the private ramp at the end of Old Ferry Rd, known forever as "Mona's" It used to belong to Willie Nelson until the IRS siezed it from him back in the 80's. It puts you on the Pedernales arm, about 2 miles from the Colorado. The ramp on the cliff side at Pace Bend Park is my 2nd choice. As far as I'm concerned, the best part of Lake Travis is from the Pedernales up, for everything.
