I have a jig tying setup but am considering pouring some soft plastic baits as well... (something else to do when I can't go fish)

Does anyone else on here do this? Which site are you ordering your molds and plastic from?

There is a sub-forum in the bass section, that covers "pouring plastics". thumb

I pour my own plastics, I have about 10 or 12 molds, I did see that jacobsbaits.com has some good looking crappie molds, I actually bought a mold from them last night. Gonna try making some soft plastics. I get my plastic from bait junkies, in my opinion its the best plastic out there and really good price, and even better all of leonards stuff is made in the USA. I get my colorant and glitter from spike it. Hope this helps.

I've been pouring my own for over 10 years, tried different brands of plastisol, made molds using plaster of Paris, bought silicone molds from lurecraft.com and aluminum molds from many sources. Some lures I've poured don't need a mold and a few designs were made using a tablespoon as a mold. I even sell glitter!

You're only limited by your imagination and the hobby is quite addictive for those with an imagination. You just have to be careful buying plastic. Certain plastics from certain sources aren't equal in quality.

Other than that, you can still fool around with lures you already own, cutting off the part of one and fusing it to the part of another to make a totally different design which I call a hybrid. All you need is a candle flame and steady hands.
