Well Hurricane Harvey didn't displace some fish I had located prior to the storm. Went back in there Saturday 9/9 and had 22lbs best 5. Had 1 7.2lbs and a 6.2lb combined with some 4s and 3s. Water color looked good, was concerned it would be all messed up.

Thank you for the report, we are going over there for some fun fishing at the end of the month and was hoping to hear some post flood water conditions like that!

Yeah, I had thought about it, but wasn't sure how Harvey had affected them. I haven't been on a ton of fish lately so if these were gone I would have to go looking to try and put something together. Going to check some other areas this weekend that should fish the same as these did to see how I can do.

From what I have seen the majority of the hydrilla is centrally located around the 147 bridge. Not a ton north of Hanks Creek. when you go farther south say Caney and Veach you start to get into more haygrass than hydrilla.

I've been looking at it, but that weekend is up in the air for me on if I will be here or not. Are you going to fish it?

Big fish are scattered out, can catch numbers up shallow using fast moving baits such as spinnerbaits, swimbaits, flukes but the big fish are either still staging out deep in 12-16' or they are scattered out in the shallows. Been fishing shallow punching grass mats for the larger fish and outer grass lines for the numbers.
