Me and my dad went Thursday evening to Huntsville and was planning on fishing all night, got there and the gate was locked with a big park closed sign, was about 7:00pm So we said well [censored] guess we will head to Cagle on Conroe, it was closed too. Does anybody know why the state parks are closed? We was thinking maybe because the flooding or evacuees staying there.

I believe all state parks were allowing evacuees to stay for free. My guess is they are still fully occupied and since most of these parks have occupancy limits, they just closed them down.
Private parks, too, for that matter . . . any close to Houston. There must be thousands of motorhomes and camping trailers owned by Houston and other residents down there. Putting them to good use.
