Hi all, I have a trailer from out of state and need to weigh it. How do those of you weigh the trailer without the boat? Do you have someone watch it while you drive it somewhere to get weighed or are there some marinas that can weigh the trailer? I've looked online but haven't found any. Thanks

Contact the manufacturer. Most now have a weight sheet they can fax or email you with the information requested by the tax office.

Thanks! That is a great idea. I was also able to get a copy of the title and it should have it on there also. Much appreciated.

I thought the gross weight is what they want?

I weighed the boat and trailer. Then I stood there at the counter and answered that ladies ?s about all of the component weights. In the end she came up with a trailer weight. The weights that you give for the boat, motor and contents could just be off the top of your head. They will never know. GVWR on my title is blank and trailer weight is filled in. Boat and trailer originally from La.. The whole thing was messed up because I knew it needed to be weighed. The lady said nope only inspection. I even showed here there was no weight on La title. It really ticked me off when I went back with just inspection because I drive right past scales to get home.
