So all my goodies for painting baits came in and got it all set up and painted my first bait and I'm proud of it! She's hanging to dry now.

Looking good, I'm guessing your using devcon as a top coat you might try thinning it out a little other than that they look good

A few drops of denatured alcohol does the trick. I mean just a few! Make sure that it is properly mixed prior to adding the alcohol. It also works great for cleaning stubborn paint off of your airbrush and cleaning over spray off of foiled holographic baits.

Hopefully you are using the slow cure epoxy and not the 5 minute epoxy. It looks like it was trying to set when you were brushing it on the baits.

Thanks! I will try the alcohol with the epoxy. I'm using Devcon 2 ton 30 min epoxy. Both pictures were right after finishing with wet epoxy. The first one I think I took to long on and the second came out much better as far as finishing goes.

Mix the devcon with a few drops of alcohol....first the epoxy then the hardener, stir thoroughly then add a few drops of alcohol, stir thoroughly again. If the mix gets too thick add another few drops of alcohol and stir it well. Don't overbrush...if the brush begins to drag over the lure its time to stop or add more alcohol. Too much alcohol will cause fisheyes (voids in the clearcoat). Its trial and error in the beginning but you'll get it down soon enough. Nice work so far.
