All of my lakes down here are flooded and I've got a buddy coming in from South Carolina that wants to catch some Texas bass. How's the fishing on Squaw right now?

Was catching a lot of quality bass on shallow flats back towards the creek about 3 weeks ago.

Thanks GROD! Never been on that lake before, but would like to take my buddy to go and catch a bunch of fish. Was going to take him to Fayette, but due to the hurricane circumstances that lake is closed right now.

Also, isn't the lake closed on Wednesdays?

Not crowded this time of year. 0630 open, off water by 4.

Thanks. How hot is their water this time of year? I assume they run the plant during summer.

I was told it was around 92 but they were only running one side. They are running both now.

Get in the grass baby or 50 feet. That's where they live.

Water was well over 100 last week. Caught them in 45-55' deep cookie cutter bass up to 2.5 lbs

Thanks, guys. My brother is coming to town for Labor Day and I want to take him somewhere within an hour or so of my area (Waco) where we could find some numbers. I saw this thread and it got me to thinking. I've never been to Squaw Creek.

We'll do Lake Waco of course, but are also considering Belton. If you all have any ideas, I'm all ears. I know it's August so nowhere is simple fishing.

just follow WAWI.

But, yes you will catch numbers on squaw creek.
throwing a square bill or spinner-bait up in the river should get your line pulled.
these cooler nights in august should help with the bite.
