It's been a tough 2 weeks being back in the classroom. Teaching English/reading to low performing kids can be tough.

All the administrative requirements is worse! I've got kids back on Monday, and the stress is mounting. I don't want to feel negative.

I'm going "tiny creek fishing" as soon as I post this...in Richardson.

I'm hoping for the best. I'm choosing it now because I just have to drive to the neighborhood park and head into the creek.

Mosquitos were a beast, but I enjoyed myself.

Catching a couple helps...'bout 1.5 hours of creek walking, brush walking and fishing.

Addendum: I truly wondered if I'd run into the neighborhood coyotes or bobcats. They are both there...Crowley Park near Lookout Drive just down from Bush 190 in Richardson.

I enjoy it myself. If you can find a creek with some clear water and some flow you can wade and fish to stay cool. And for those little bass and sunfish just use light gear or a fly rod. And wear some cleats so you can climb out easy and so you don't slide in the mud along the bank and go in like I did lol. This was a early August.

I fish tiny creeks a bunch, guaranteed fish in the deep pools.
I remember watching the 2nd video, one of the comments was "next episode, fishing a bird bath" lol
Fisherman13- That spot looks familiar

1. Cleats would be good to keep you from falling down mud sides, but I wore knee-high rubber boots and walked in the water when I could.
2. Yep, watch out for the poison ivy.
3. I'll go again and try the other side of the park stream first. I've seen plenty of fish there.
4. I need smaller hooks.
5. Here's a better video of this fisherman's work.

Addendum: I did notice after a while the fish I was trying for were nipping at the hot dog over and over, stealing the bait most of the time. They did not consume it thus snatching the hook like they do in this video. Same kind of fish for the most part. It didn't seem like I could wait, let them take the "hook" then pull/set it. They nibbled and stole...
What do you think?

Addendum: The videos are not of me. I learned about tiny fishing from youtube.
If I shot my own, most of them would be of me trying to get my fishing rod through and around brush!
I'm the only one I know who can get snags without casting.

Youre not the only one Indianation, any one who doesn't break their fly rods down knows. Every trip thru brush my rod tip or line will get snagged. I stop, back up, point the rod in a different direction and start the process all over 20yards down a trail. It's unbelievable how far rod tips will bend before breaking.
