Not to shoot holes in your theory, but...

I left three rivers about 30 minutes, headed up 72. Three rivers has plenty of empty hotel rooms. I-37 certainly had heavier than normal traffic for a Thursday evening, but it seemed to be moving just fine. Just went through kenedy and karnes city. They had a bunch of hotels and oilfield housing built a few years ago, and I would say that perhaps 10% of the parking spots had a car in them.
I did pass about 200 each of rv's and boats being pulled northbound when I was headed south earlier, and I'm currently putting along at 45 mph on 72, so people are definitely getting the hell out of the coastal bend today.

Hmmmm odd, the news showed a constant line of cars and my cousin said it took him 6 hours for a normal 3 hr drive.

My wife's cousin is in Victoria. She said she's staying. Go hang with her. She's pretty cool. Can drink and smoke you under the table too.

Hide out in the mattress section of Bed Bath and Beyond. Take food and drink.

Edit...I can't answer Derek's question in the other thread yet and will be in bed before I can. The boy is doing fine. He can poo solid and doesn't seem to be in much pain. No fever and blood work is fine. He still seems to have some tenderness but we are going to take the doctor's word for now that he is fine. Something still seems wrong, but it's not an issue at the moment. We are just watching and waiting.

Was that on 37 as it hits SA?

I took the back roads. Wasn't a bad drive at all once I got around the culprit (some old bag driving slow with her hazards on)
