Good for the lakes, terrible for the people that live there

I'm boarding up now near Corpus Christi. While I am hoping for as much water as possible for the watershed I am also hoping it stays outside of my house.

We have a few people in our hood in League city, Friendswood side of League city side board up their houses. Knocking the dust off the generator is not a bad idea but boarding up in our area seems to be an overkill. We are a good ways off and probably won't get all the rain in Houston they are talking, but never know.

I know when I boarded up my house in Corpus when I lived there years back. Then had to travel for work and left my boards on for a month being out of town. Dropped my electric bill a ton and didn't take nothing to cool it. Was really surprised what 1/2 inch OSB for my electric bill.

Thanks, Billy

Remember how Rita was supposed to hit Houston then made a turn st the last minute and went right up the sabine/Neches? Guess they figured better safe than sorry

Very good point, talking to my buddy that lived down the road from my place at Rayburn, he reminded me before I bought my place in Rayburn Country, Rita put near 100 MPH winds in Rayburn country with Pine Trees all over the place.

Thats serious wind that far inland. Never know what these storms are going to do.

Thanks, Billy

Prayers for all those folks in harms way. Can't imagine the troubles and heartaches of having to leave your home not knowing what you will come back to. Hope not one single life is lost.

It's going to be a huge deal if we get the predicted amount of rain. Telling people to get out is going to cause such a panic that you would be
driving for 10+ hours and going maybe 40 miles. I did that a few years ago when Ike hit and I will never get stuck in that mess again. If you live near a creek or bayou in Houston you better be ready to get to high grounds but telling everyone to get out would be a disaster.
