I fish Dunlap,Mcqueeney, and Placid a lot. Right now there are to many ski and wake boats out. Best time to fish these lakes will be after Labor Day. The lakes become "Angler Friendly" after Labor Day all the way till next Memorial Day. All three river lakes hold good quality Channel's,Blues and Flatheads. Dunlap has several deep holes. They are around 20 to 28 feet. Big Marvs works good on the Channel Cats. Cut shad for the Blues and live Bluegill/sunfish for the Flatheads. Fall and winter months are good months to fish the river lakes. thumb

Was just there Sat morning for a few hours. A few blues on the Jugs was it. Never fished there this time of year before but wasn't too bad. I left about 11am though, only a couple of recreational boats on the water, several boats/kayaks fishing though. Ive never fished by the damn, always upriver a ways. Cut bait always works for me. Fall/winter & spring definitely the best time of year.
