Have you guys ever heard of this reflective braided fishing line? Seems like this could help with detecting bites while catfishing. Anyone try this? www.aurorabraidfishingline.com

Best catfish reel is one with a baitclicker. Makes it easy to know which one is one.

Click-click-click-click. That sound always tells you what is going on.

I don't use any special line, just my normal Big Game. I do advocate having a bait clicker though. I use spinning reels with baitrunners, about the same as a clicker on a baitcaster but the tension on my Okuma baitrunners is adjustable from free spool to about 3lbs of drag. Best thing since sliced bread.
I also build my own rods, and use neon green, neon yellow, or neon orange thread for wrapping the guides on my night fishing rods. Give them the least bit of light and they glow pretty bright.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

You guys bring up good points about the clicker. I'd never fish without one for cats again! I think I might splurge and give it a try. I always need more gear! I fish from shore a lot and I think it might help me see what's going on with my line when I'm away from my rod. I'll let you know how it works once I try it.

What size of that Okuma reel do you typically use? Been using the ABF 55's with 25lb line. The line is a bit oversized, but is doable without having to get into the 60 series size. The line will try to jump off the spool at times with the bail open. When one does that I will make sure to let all the line out and reel it all back in before the next trip. Takes all the twist out of it that way.

Well curiosity got the best of me and I ordered two spools. A little spendy but it was pretty cool. I bank fish a lot and it allowed me to walk away from my rods and still be able to see what was going on with them. I could easily see the line plain as day in my headlamp from probably 50 yards away. Other than that it was just like normal line. Not sure if I'll buy more in the future, depends on how long it holds up, but has been pretty durable for the couple times I've used it. I could see this being really helpful any time you've got to keep a close eye on your line for bites at night.
