I was fishing recently on a lake for a few hours moving from spot to spot. When I went to the leave the lake after those few hours and turned the key to start I got a constant continous solid beep alarm. I was only 1/4 mile away from launch so I hauled arse to get boat on trailer. Alarm continued all of the way to the launch. I was afraid boat would overheat but I saw water coming out normal rate from [censored] hole. Motor didn't seem to be overheating either. Even after the motor cooled down that day (a week ago), even when I turn the key on without even starting the boat I get the alarm. I think I have some kind of bad sensor or something. Online recommendations were to disconnect some wires to see if alarm stops, but it didn't. Some suggestions said the motor oil level sensor inside of the oil tank is shot and cannot be repaired so I would need a new oil tank. Oil level was halfway full and under normal usage so I know It was getting oil because my 2 stroke has always been a chain smoker since day one (12 years old). LOL!!!

Any Merc guru's out there offering some advice, besides the obvious to take it in for repairs. I will do that, but I want to have some sort of knowledge of what this could be. Also if anyone knows any good motor repair guys in the DFW area that would be great too.

First I would fill the half full oil tank. Just a shot in the dark. Good luck.

My bad...Sorry about that, I meant to say that I filled the oil tank full despite it having plenty of oil. I thought what the heck, maybe that would work, but I still got the alarm.
