Wow, what a treat in August. Cool, cloudy, and fish biting like it was going to be their last meal.
Rick and I fished until 1:00 PM and didn't break a sweat. Only complaint was the sore thumbs.
Caught 34 nice keepers. Estimated 8-10 throw backers for each keeper caught. You do the math, truly a great morning. All fish released to fight again.
Never got out of sight of the marina, used maybe 1/2 gallon of gas.
Only fished 8 brushpiles and all were equally good.
Fish today definitely preferred small baits 1.5" or hand tied. Most any color.
Also caught the smallest catfish ever on a jig.
