After several unsuccessful and I could add frustrating attempts using 6# test to learn how to tie a drop loop knot, I finally realized that it would be a lot easier to learn using 1/4 in diameter cord. Makes a big difference.

Are you talking drop loop like for tying a jig 18" up or so on the line?

Yes, that's it. I've always just used a single jig but trying something new never hurts.
