Within 20 miles of where I work I have an Academy, Cabelas and Bass Pro so I am liable to hit any of them depending on what I need and who has a sale going on. But I also get a lot of stuff from my local Walmart. it has a pretty good selection of what I use and it is on the way to the lake. And it is open 24 hrs a day so I can pop in get fresh worms/crawlers at 5 in the morning on my way to the water, which is convenient.

I guess you would have to throw Walmart in the mix also. The Walmart close to me has a pretty good tackle stock and there is usually a sale of some sort going on each month. Bass Pro on the other hand just about has anything in stock that I need.

Bass Pro but will be checking out the relatively new Dick's Sporting Goods here in Humble. Academy in Humble needs to get the saltwater back in stock like before. By the way several folks like the FTU in South Houston just too far distance, but they do have excellent variety.

For what I need for sunfish and Rainbow trout Academy has all my needs at reasonable prices. Side Note: I do take advantage of the sales at Walmart! Also worms are a little cheaper at Walmart compared to Academy.

Also worms are a little cheaper at Walmart compared to Academy. Thanks for the heads up on the worm price at Walmart Chuck. I did pick up a choice little spinning rod at Walmart the other day while I was over there buying oil for my pick up. A 5 foot Ugly Stik Elite Ultralight. They had it for $37. I really didn't "need" it, but it was such a perfect little bluegill rod I "had" to have it. .

Nothing beats an Ugly Stick combo when it comes to sunfish fishing. You can find sells at Walmart where you can buy a Ugly Stick combo for $19.99. Side note. I never have enough tackle.

For spinning gear and my basic tackle for sunfish it's Academy. Side Note: For fly supplies it's Amazon or Bass Pro!
