My son Myles and I went out sat morning to do some crappie fishing and We came upon a very interesting little spot Saturday morning.
At first I though it was shad.... but then I realized they were no more than 1-2 foot off the bottom. They would not hit any jigs.
So, I decided to try my cast net. As I pulled it up I knew somethign was wrong. It was heavy! It was a net FULL of bluecats!
We then spent the next 30 min pulling blue cats out of the cast net. They were from 3" long to 18" long!
The picture below tells it all. I have only seen them schooled up like that a couple of times on Granger. There were hundreds if not thousands of bluecats in that school. I was wishing I would have had my juglines! If you look closely you can see some really nice fish on both the left and right side of the boat.
